Objectives of the Master's Degree in International Commerce

The dynamism which is a feature of the economic environment in Europe, combined with the phenomenon of economic globalisation on a worldwide scale and the development of Information and Communication Technologies (which translate to strong growth in electronic commerce), has given rise to the need for training university graduates with the appropriate expertise to further develop a booming activity in an efficient and professional way, and is fundamental to national and regional competitiveness such as international trade.

To achieve this requires offering a degree oriented to a professional career which will set the following targets:

  • Provide specialisation in foreign trade to those graduates in the legal-social field (graduates in Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, or current graduates in administration and management of companies, or those who have diplomas in Law, Economics, and Business Studies) which allow them complete their current training. Furthermore, provide expertise in business management to students from other backgrounds such as Humanities who have skills such as languages which are a key tool in international trade.
  • Provide businesses with specialists who are capable of resolving access problems to foreign markets, planning of economic activities abroad, defining strategies and programmes, preparing international marketing campaigns, resolving customs and international economic operations, resolving legal and judicial problems associated with international trade, resolving financial problems or taxes arising from international trade, managing and planning processes for the internationalisation of companies, and other similar items related to international trade.

Target audience of the Master's Degree in International Commerce

  • University graduates interested in international trade and in overseas business trade operations.
  • Knowledge of foreign languages is highly valued as it is a basic working tool.
  • Proactive persons who wish to bring added value either through their projects or by participating in ongoing projects.
